    Introduction

Our undergraduate program provides a large range of opportunities for our students whether they are majoring or minoring in Spanish. In addition to a rich selection of courses, we offer opportunities for study abroad.

    Lower Division Courses

    • First Year Courses (SPA 1, 2, 3)

This curriculum consists of beginning courses in Spanish. The web site contains information about the teachers, exams, and courses - including syllabi and course descriptions.

    • Second Year Courses (SPA 21, 22, 23)
The intermediate courses build on what students learned in the First Year curriculum, and they prepare students for upper division courses in language, literature, and culture.
    • Native Speaker Courses(SPA 31, 32, 33)
This accelerated three-course series is designed for native speakers and allows them to cover relevant content from the First and Second Year Curriculum.

    Upper Division Program

In their upper division courses, students explore a wide range of topics to develop a broad understanding of Hispanic language, literature, and culture. With their adviser's assistance, students can tailor their major to fit their needs, and they often combine their Spanish major with another major in the humanities or social sciences.
