Spanish linguistics; educational linguistics; sociolinguistics: Spanish in the United States; second language acquisition: writing development; Spanish systemic functional grammar.
Current Projects
Her research interests include: second language writing development, Spanish systemic functional grammar and sociolinguistics with emphasis on Spanish in the United States. She is currently analyzing the development of academic writing in Spanish by bilingual speakers in the U.S. and working on a typology of Spanish from the perspective of systemic functional linguistics.
