I am pleased to welcome you to the Department of Spanish.
It is our sincere hope that every student in our programs will
attain excellence in their studies, and we will facilitate that
growth. Ours is a magnificent profession in that we interact with
students in shaping their intellectual horizons and we make fundamental
discoveries in our research that contribute to the better understanding
