Professor Robert Patrick Newcomb to interview writer Humbert Hernández and discuss Hernández's new book, Mis Patios Perdidos: Memorias de una Infancia Gibraltareña

On Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 9-10:30 am (Pacific), Professor Robert Patrick Newcomb will interview the writer Humbert Hernández. They will discuss Hernández's new book, Mis patios perdidos: memorias de una infancia gibraltareñaThe event is open to the public, will be bilingual (English/Spanish), and will take place over Zoom.

Hernández is a prolific writer of short fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. He writes primarily in Spanish, though also in English, and focuses thematically on working-class life in Gibraltar during the mid-twentieth century. Mis patios perdidos presents a series of interconnected, semi-autobiographical stories narrated from the perspective of a young, working-class boy living in the bilingual, multicultural community of Gibraltar in the years following World War II.
