The Condor Trials: Transnational Repression and Human Rights in South America

Francesca Lessa is Associate Professor of International Relations of the Americas at University College London, where she is affillated to the Institute of the Americas. Previously, between 2011 and 2023, she was a researcher and lecturer at the University of Oxford, where, among other achievements, she secured the prestigious Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellowship. Her latest book, The Condor Trials, won the Juan Mendez Human Rights Award in Latin America (Duke University) in 2023 and the Premio Iberoamericano Book Award from the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) in 2024.
