Professor Robert Irwin's new book, Movilidades Humanas en las Américas: entre regímenes de expulsión, políticas de contención e industrias del cuidado, co-edited by Colombian professors Yuliet Bedoya and Kelly Muñoz, has been published by the Universidad de San Buenaventura (Bogotá, Colombia) and is available as a free digital download. The volume features contributions from present (Lucas Ruppel, Chandler Thompson) and former (Lizbeth de la Cruz Santana) PhD students from the UC Davis Spanish department. Their contributions address such themes as asylum claims of migrants fleeing organized crime, the politics of LGBT+ migrant care providers, and the effects of deportation on mixed status families through analyses of migrant testimonial narratives from UC Davis's Humanizando la Deportación/el Asilo public archive.
